The Filipina Women’s Network is hosting a Woman’s Day Event, DISRUPTing San Francisco, at Google SF on March 8. Sterling’s Cora Tellez is the keynote speaker. She’s the first Filipino, first Filipina woman to break the “glass ceiling in the US” when she was named president and CEO of Health Net, a Fortune 500 company in 1998, the youngest woman CEO at that time. Prior to that she was president and chairwoman of Prudential Health Care Plan of California and CEO of Blue Shield of California. She parlayed her success after Health Net to found Sterling Administration (health savings accounts) and is a leader in this field. She’s US FWN100™ in 2009 and Global FWN100™ in 2013.
