Chief Executive Officer
Cora serves as company President and CEO of Sterling Administration, a company she founded in 2004. Cora has 25 years of management experience in health care finance and delivery. Prior to founding Sterling Administration, Cora was President of the Health Plans division of Health Net, Inc., an insurance provider that in 2002 had revenues of $8 billion from health plans. She has also served as President of Prudential’s western health care operations, CEO of Blue Shield of California, Bay Region and Regional Manager for Kaiser Permanente of Hawaii.
In January, 2015, Cora began a new company, Amazing CARE Network, Inc., that is focused on helping men and women redefine aging. Services offered include savings accounts geared to setting funds aside to pay for services not covered by long term care insurance or Medicare, expanding one’s network of friends and educating them on the opportunities and challenges awaiting us as we age, and a network of recently retired physicians who serve as physician friends-of-the-family to help clients navigate the medical delivery system. ACN also provides an innovative debit card solution to home care agencies.
In 2019 Cora founded Amazing Care Network Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides financial support to individuals who desire but cannot afford the services offered by Amazing Care. The foundation also offers financial support for caregiving services.
Cora received her master’s degree in public administration from California State University. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Mills College where she received a BA degree and for many years, served as college Trustee.
Cora serves on the boards of HMS Holdings, Inc., (NASDAQ:HMSY), CorMedix (NYSE:CRMD) and Pacific Premier Bank (NASDAQ:PPBI). For HMS, Cora is the Lead Independent Vice Chair and also serves on the Audit, Compensation and Governance Committees. For Pacific Premier Cora serves on the Compensation Committee. She also serves on several nonprofit organizations and UC San Diego’s Center for Integrative Medicine. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum and Women Corporate Directors.
Past affiliations include the following: Cora was a former board director of Practice Fusion, Crescent Healthcare, Bank of Hawaii, Glendale Federal Bank, Cal Fed Bank, Catellus Development Company, First Consulting Group and Presbyterian Health Plan. She has served on numerous non-profit boards, including The Cowell Foundation, Mills College, Holy Names University, and Philippine International Aid. She helped found Asian Community Mental Health and Filipinos for Social Justice.
Cora has been recognized for her professional and community endeavors by such organizations as Women Healthcare Executives, the Asian Pacific Fund, and the Anti Defamation League. In April, 2013, she was awarded the Living Example Award by the Bay Area Tumor Institute, and in August, 2013, she was awarded the Del Beasley Award for Community Leadership in Oakland by the Progressive Oakland Women for Empowerment and Reform. In June 2016, she was recognized by the San Francisco Philippine Consulate Office for her leadership achievement.
